Today in Mr. Schick’s class, we learned about King Hammurabi and how he was the first ruler of Babylon to create a set of laws for the people.  These laws were called “Hammurabi’s Code”.  Here are three of his laws:

Law #22.  If anyone is committing a robbery and is caught, then he shall be put to death.
I think that if someone gets caught for a robbery that they shouldn't die, they should just be punished a less extreme way.

Law #14. If a man has stolen a child, he shall be put to death.
If a man steels a child that is not his that is obviously not right and is something you should be punished for.  Although, I don’t think they should die for it.

Law #129. If a man's wife be caught lying with another, they shall be strangled and cast into the water. If the wife's husband would save his wife, the king can save his servant.
I think that if a women cheats on her husband, she shouldn't get strangled and then thrown into the water.  She should get punished in a way that doesn't kill her.  Also, if the husband tries to stop them from killing her he shouldn't have to serve the king, he should just get held back by the guards.
