Today
in Mr. Schick’s class, we learned about King Hammurabi and how he was the first
ruler of Babylon to create a set of laws for the people. These laws were called “Hammurabi’s Code”. Here are three of his laws:
Law #22. If anyone is committing a robbery and is caught, then he shall be put to death.
I think that if someone gets caught for a
robbery that they shouldn't die, they should just be punished a less extreme way.
Law #14. If a man has stolen a child, he shall be put to death.
If
a man steels a child that is not his that is obviously not right and is
something you should be punished for.
Although, I don’t think they should die for it.
Law #129. If a man's wife be caught lying with another, they shall be strangled and cast into the water. If the wife's husband would save his wife, the king can save his servant.
