Today in Mr. Schick’s class we learned about Western Civilization.  The Western World is Europe and The America’s.  Pre-history is the time period before people started writing down information.  History is when people started writing down information about what was going on around them.  The earliest prehistoric age is the Paleolithic age also known as the Old Stone Age.  This is the time when they would use stones and wood to hunt for their food.  The Neolithic Age is the New Stone Age.  This is when the people started to develop more advanced tools for hunting and other major events.   When people migrated, they migrated towards food and animals.  Agricultural Revolution has to do with farming.  People were assigned different jobs and had different skills.  If you had a skill in hunting, you were the hunter, and so on.  If you were a hunter you were seen as powerful like a hierarchy.  People were able to take care of children and population grew.  Men took care of the hard and dirty jobs and women took care of little less important jobs.  The wheel and plow played a very important role in how population grew.  It improved crops and provided a lot more food than what they were providing before.
